Alaska Bike Tours

The far northwest is one of North America's last wilderness regions, vast landscapes stretch to the horizons, herds of wildlife still graze in the summer grass and vast tracts of development don't exist. It is a region where you can set out on your bike and pedal for hours through undulating terrain, with beautiful views and hardly a car to disturb the peace and quiet. Pedalers offers you a couple of different ride options through this scenic land ... the only fully supported ride the entire length of the famed Al-Can Highway ... and a unique tour through a variety of Alaska's regions.

The Great Alaska Highway Ride   >>more details

Truly the ultimate wilderness road bike ride, a 1400 mile journey along the infamous Al-Can Highway. This paved highway wends its way from the green forested hills of northern British Columbia, through river valleys backed up by glacier draped mountain ranges in the Yukon Territory, to the homesteaded towns of eastern Alaska. Towns, like the traffic, are few and far between, you can count all of the cities along the route on one hand. But the scenery is spectacular and our overnight stops delightful, how about soaking in a hot tub overlooking the turquoise waters of Kluane Lake, or perhaps fresh baked sweet rolls under a canopy of firs during breakfast. A once in a lifetime, must do ride.

BEARS - Bicycling Extraordinary Alaskan Roads   >>more details

Our annual Alaska ride showcases many parts of the North Star State. Starting in Anchorage, our journey pedals northward visiting the historic communities of Talkeetna and Nenana, as well as the grandeur of Denali National Park. Relax for a couple of days in Faribanks, then pedal the historic Richardson Highway to Valdez and discover the wildlife of Prince William Sound by ferry. Everywhere we bike, unfolds a new view of the many wonders of Alaska and its hardy, gregarious folks. Enjoy bicycling under the midnight sun.

A Grand Journey

Why not combine both rides for an unforgettable journey of a lifetime. Once you have pedaled up the Alaska Highway to the 49th state, you owe it to yourself to experience Alaska as well. The BEARS ride is always scheduled after the Great Alaska Highway Ride with a few days in between to explore Fairbanks and beyond. 2009 will be our eleventh running of the Alaska Highway, why not make it the year you take your Grand Journey to Alaska.
