A Distinctive Travel Company with a Peculiar Name

We’'ve just signed on an unusual active travel company with a really peculiar name ... Pedalers Pub & Grille. As distinctive in nature as its moniker might suggest, this is one tour operator worth remembering.

As the name conveys, this client is all about bikes, a cold beer and great local food with good friends. What’s different is that the cycling trips take place in Asia, the South Pacific and, because GM Tom Sheehan can’t get enough of glaciers and grizzlies, also in Alaska.

These are trips for cycling enthusiasts whose idea of a good time is to push pedals for several hours a day through an ever-changing environment. This is what Pedalers Pub & Grille has been about since the mid 1980s, developing a reputation as the cycling holiday specialists in, especially, Asia.

In fact, PP&G is Asia's most seasoned bicycle tour operator. Tom and his team of expats and native experts created the first commercial cycling holidays in Japan and Thailand. They were also instrumental in the development of the now widely popular multisport concept of adventure travel.

PP&G designs its 7 to 25-day adventures for folks who love to ride yet there’'s ample time planned to poke around the interesting sites along the way. They welcome all levels of riders, from energetic beginners to elite level riders, and offer bike tours suitable for a wide range of abilities.

Authenticity and cultural sensitivity are central to the Pedalers philosophy. Intimate, locally run restaurants and lodgings are preferred over big international chains for the way they enrich a traveler’s experience.

Put into perspective, their name isn’'t that strange after all. The casual atmosphere of a pub & grille is reflective of each trip: fun, sociable, laid back, jovial ... no pretentiousness nor any pomp & circumstance. It’s quite a refreshing break from your more structured, mainstream active travel options.

Over the coming weeks we’'ll be telling you more about Pedalers Pub & Grille’s new trips planned for late 2008-2009 that include India, both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, as well as a new Thailand itinerary.

We invite you to take a moment and get to know them. With Pedalers Pub & Grille, there’s always a world of unusual stories and tales to be told! Visit them online at: www.pedalerspubandgrille.com and keep a lookout for future press releases.
