Bike Rentals

Bike Rentals are currently available for our tours in Thailand, Bhutan and Indonesia. Additional tour destinations will be added during 2010.

tour imagesOur primary rental bike is the Merida Speeder T3. These outstanding performers are flatbar road bikes*, featuring a compact road geometry with available sizes covering traditional frames sizes 49 cm to 61 cm. Merida, the third largest bike manufacturer in Asia, equips these bikes with Shimano Ultegra derailleurs, sturdy V-brakes and comfortable saddles. We've finished them off with twin waterbottle cages, pumps, large rear bags, patch kits and more. The bikes have traditional style quill pedals with optional toe clips, but our guides are happy to swap them out for your favorite pedals from back home.

All guests are required to bring their own helmet and wearing of helmets is mandatory while cycling with Pedalers. Because we have not found a truly satisfactory way to clean and sanitize a helmet after use, we do not provide loaner or rental helmets.

* What are flatbar road bikes ? Our bikes are not hybrids. Hybrids are mountain bike frames with road tires, they are heavy, with a less responsive longer wheel base. Our bikes are true lightweight road bikes that have simply had the drop style racing handlebars replaced by flat mountain bike handlebars for more comfort and an upright sitting poition to enjoy the awesome scenery better at our destinations.

Camping Equipment Rentals

tour imagesOn our rides in Alaska and the Yukon Territory, we enjoy camping out under the stars at night. For riders without their own camping equipment we offer camping rental kits for an individual and for a couple (or two friends traveling together). Each kit comes with a sturdy, easy to set up Eureka Timberline tent; a comfortable, self inflating ground pad and a warm Eureka Cimmaron sleeping bag, all packed in a convenient duffel bag. Our sleeping bag set-up also features a removable flannel liner for extra warmth on cold evenings or for use without the sleeping bag on a warm night. Plus it is easily washable so you can keep your sleeping system as clean as you wish. The one person kit, has a two man tent and one sleeping set-up, while the two person kit comes with a four man tent and two sleeping set ups.

Rental Costs

Rental costs vary by tour and are listed on the tour's Details and Costs page, where available. Reserving rental equipment requires a non-refundable $25 deposit per person per rental package when you book and the balance submitted with your final tour payment.
