Join us for a grand voyage through the fabled isles of ancient Polynesia, live and travel aboard a traditional sailing ship and tour the sights and sounds of each island by bicycle. Visit the quiet, out of the way islands of Tahaa, Raiatea and Hauhine. Explore the fabled paradises of Moorea and Bora Bora. As we sail through the turquoise Pacific waters aboard the four masted clipper ship, we'll enjoy deluxe accommodations and a fine dining experience.

Before boarding the ship, the journey through paradise begins in the capital city of Papeete. We warm up with a bike ride along the north shore where we visit the home of the Mutiny on the Bounty trilogy's author, James Norman Hall, see the unique Blowhole and explore the teeming municipal market of Le Marche. Then we embark on our Barquentine style clipper ship for our voyage to the Leeward Islands. Our first island stop is Huahine, where an afternoon loop ride takes us around most of this quiet pair of islands separated by a narrow lagoon. Sailing across to the sisters islands of Raiatea and Tahaa, we will visit Taputaputea, thought to be fthe point fro which the ancient Hawaiians and Maori set sail to their new homes in Hawaii and New Zealand.

Our next stop takes us to fabled Bora Bora, a tropical paradise that has inspired many tales of adventure and love. We arrive as the sun sets behind the island's distinctive mountain and then set out in the morning to explore. On our final voyage we sail back to the Windward Islands to the Island of Moorea, where we cycle not only the coastal roads, but also pedal high into the lush mountains for a fantastic bird's eye view of this island paradise.

Itinerary (day-by-day)

Day 1 - Your guides will meet your flight at Papeete's Faaa Airport, then transfer to our hotel located by the waterfront. We set the bikes up and then head out for your first taste of Polynesia cuisine, perhaps poisson cru or freshly grilled lagoon fish.

Tahiti bicycle tours and ridesDay 2 - After breakfast we will set out on a warm-up ride along Tahiti's north shoreline. Your ride will take in the Black Sand Beach at historic Point Venus and the Faarumai Waterfalls. Upon our return, we will check in for our cruise, then set out to explore downtown Papeete, visiting the colorful Municipal Market and the Museum of Tahiti. 35 mi / 56 km

Day 3 - A relaxing morning is in store as we sail to the Leeward Islands arriving around noon at the twin islands of Huahine-nui and Huahine-iti. After lunch, we set out to cycle around Huahine-iti, visiting dimunitive villages and white sand beaches. We will also cycle some of the remote side roads of Huahine-nui. This island is not heavily visited by tourists, with only a couple of hotels, so presents a authentic taste of the island lifestyle. Tonight, we remain anchored off Huahine, with an opportunity to head ashore to visit the local watering holes. 27 mi / 43 km

Day 4 - The Star Flyer weighs anchor as the sun rises and we sail across the open straits to Raiatea. The second largest island, Raiatea is thought to be the point of origin of the ancient Polynesians as they journeyed to Hawaii and New Zealand. We will enjoy a metric century, looping the entire island with a visit to the Marae Taputaputea (temple) thought to be the historic center of religion in Polynesia. After dinner, we sail to Taha'a, a smaller island located in the same lagoon as Raiatea. 65 mi / 104 km

Day 5 - Taha'a is one of the least visited islands in Polynesia. In fact small farms and fishing are the main stays of the island and souviner shops are next to impossible to find. We will head out for a short ride in the morning, exploring the coastal roads snaking around turquoise lagoons. After lunch, we sail for fabled Bora Bora, arriving as the sun sets behind its spectacular mountain peaks. 25 mi / 40 km

Tahiti Bike tours and ridesDay 6 - Bora Bora is the picture perfect image of paradise ... lush, rugged mountains rising above white sand beaches lined with palm trees, deep blue lagoons encircled by reefs and tiny islets ... unfortunately this means lots of tourists and resorts. We spend the morning on a ride that loops the entire island. The afternoon is free with time to shop, head for a nearby beach, or hop a boat to oneof the nearby motus. 22 mi / 35 km

Day 7 - On this morning at sea, we head back to the windward islands to the Island of Moorea. After dropping anchor in one of Moorea's two scenic bays, we will enjoy a brief afternoon spin, that loops around the sacred Mt Rotui, visiting some of the interior portions of the islands that most visitors miss. We will also tackle the short climb to the Belvedere Overlook to enjoy its spectacular views of the island. 20 mi / 32 km

Day 8 - On our last day of cycling we loop of the entire island of Moorea. We'll visit the octagonal church of Papetoai, some ancient Maraes, fishing villages and beautiful vistas. On our last leg of the cycling, we can stop at the markets of Maharepa and Paopao for handicrafts and other souvenirs. As the sunsets, our clipper ship will sail back to Papeete. 36 mi / 58 km

Day 9 - After breakfast, we will disembark and bid each other our fond farewells. We provide transfers back to the airport for your flights home will be provided.
