This island is not heavily visited by tourists, with only a couple of hotels, so presents a authentic taste of the island lifestyle. Tonight, we remain anchored off Huahine, with an opportunity to head ashore to visit the local watering holes. 27 mi / 43 km
Day 4 - The Star Flyer weighs anchor as the sun rises and we sail across the open straits to Raiatea. The second largest island, Raiatea is thought to be the point of origin of the ancient Polynesians as they journeyed to Hawaii and New Zealand. We will enjoy a metric century, looping the entire island with a visit to the Marae Taputaputea (temple) thought to be the historic center of religion in Polynesia. After dinner, we sail to Taha'a, a smaller island located in the same lagoon as Raiatea. 65 mi / 104 km
Day 5 - Taha'a is one of the least visited islands in Polynesia. In fact small farms and fishing are the main stays of the island and souviner shops are next to impossible to find. We will head out for a short ride in the morning, exploring the coastal roads snaking around turquoise lagoons. After lunch, we sail for fabled Bora Bora, arriving as the sun sets behind its spectacular mountain peaks. 25 mi / 40 km
Day 6 - Bora Bora is the picture perfect image of paradise ... lush, rugged mountains rising above white sand beaches lined with palm trees, deep blue lagoons encircled by reefs and tiny islets ... unfortunately this means lots of tourists and resorts. We spend the morning on a ride that loops the entire island. The afternoon is free with time to shop, head for a nearby beach, or hop a boat to oneof the nearby motus. 22 mi / 35 km
