Cycling Thailand
Thailand is truly cycling's best kept secret and one of the world's best places to bike. They have an excellent network of roads throughout the country, most with nice pavement and wide shoulders. And the Thais themselves are among the friendliest folks on the planet, everywhere you go it's "hello . . . where you go ? . . where you from ? . . how are you ?", even the truck drivers lean out the window to say "sawasdee khap" with a smile and a big thumbs up, as they pass. Combine this with the delicious Thai cuisine, renowned the world around for its delightful flavors and spectacular landscapes, ranging from forest draped mountains to emerald green fields of rice to towering limestone outcroppings rising from turquoise seas to colorful, ornate Buddhist temples. Need we say more.
The team from Pedalers has been taking groups of cyclists to Thailand for tours in this wonderful country since 1987, far longer than any other tour operator. Over the years we have explored and discovered many different regions, villages and landscapes and draw on this knowledge to design our awesome rides through the Land of Smiles. We currently offer four extraordinary rides through this alluring, colorful and captivating country.
Ancient Kingdoms Ride >>more details
One of our favorite routes through Thailand takes in a variety of regions, from the historic city ruins of central Thailand to the lush hills of the north. The first leg visits three of Thailand's UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Ayutthaya, Sukhothai and Kamphaeng Phet, connected by leisurely rides through far-reaching rice fields and banana farms, small villages and rural countryside. The second leg explores the northern hill country around Chiang Mai. Here limestone outcroppings pierce the lush forests and local villagers still wear their colorful traditional tribal clothing in daily life. We enjoy evenings at selected hotels and lodges in cities, as well as delightful resorts hidden in the remote countryside.
